Student Grant Application

Grant Partnership Guidelines

Financial Benefits:

  • Provides a grant of $12 for each lesson for a maximum of 36 lessons during the teaching year.

  • Student pays for the balance of the lesson fee.

  • Provides $50 to help towards purchasing of new books and additional studio fees.

  • Grant recipient’s entry fee for the Ribbon Festival will be waived.

  • Grant money will be paid directly to the teacher.

  • If the teacher offers more than 36 lessons during the year, the student will pay the full teacher fee for those additional lessons.

  • Student is expected to meet the requirements of his/her teacher’s studio.

In addition, LCMTA requests the following:

  • The grant student is given written expectations/guidelines at the beginning of study. The teacher reviews the student’s progress in December & March and reports to LCMTA.

  • At the three month evaluation (December), the teacher will give the student written goals to work on for the six month evaluation (March). After the six month evaluation, if a student isn’t meeting the requirements of study, the grant may be terminated.

  • If a student misses a lesson (forgets or other unexcused reason), he/she must reimburse the teacher at the teacher’s full lesson fee for that lesson.

  • If a student has three or more unexcused lessons, the grant may be terminated.

  • At the end of the year, the student and teacher will be asked to fill out an evaluation form and return it to LCMTA
